Software
lbdev: Needed to set up your machine with Lightburn
lbset: Need to reconfigure you machine back to defaults if needed
Firmware flash files:
Flash utility – (Windows) Use this to flash the firmware to the Devil1
Flash utility installation guide
Flash utility (Mac) – Use this to flash the firmware to the Devil1
Firmware file – This is what the flash utility will use for flashing the Devil1 (Last updated: 12/22/22)
Installation
Wiring Setup:
- Connect stepper motor cable from Devil1 to Hybrid2 stepper motor
- Connect module cable from Devil1 to module
- Install module on gantry using clamping mount
- Connect supplied power cord to Devil1
- Connect USB cable to Devil1
- Power on Devil1
Lightburn Setup:
- In Lightburn, on the Laser tab, click the Devices button
- Click the Import button
- Select the lbdev file for Hybrid2 (see Software, above)
- Click Ok button
Hybrid 2 should now appear in your Devices list
Troubleshooting
- When I home, the module moves to the right instead of the left and bangs into the stopper
- Using the directional arrows in Lightburn or on the Devil1 LCD screen, check if left and right movement is correct
- If no:
- Do Edit – Machine Settings
- Go to Outputs section
- Toggle X Direction Invert option to the opposite of what it is set for
- If it was True, set to false and vice versa
- Click the Write button
- Close Machine Settings window
- Check the left right movement again
- If all is good, click the Home button and verify that Hybrid2 now homes correctly
- If yes:
- Do Edit – Machine Settings
- Go to Outputs section
- Toggle X Homing direction invert option to the opposite of what it is set for
- If it was True, set to false and vice versa
- Click the Write button
- Close Machine Settings window
- Check the left right movement again
- If all is good, click the Home button and verify that Hybrid2 now homes correctly
- If no:
- Using the directional arrows in Lightburn or on the Devil1 LCD screen, check if left and right movement is correct
