  1. How do I used Devil1 Lobotomy Kit with XCS?
    • No xTool software is supported for Devil1
  2. How do I get the red cross hair to turn on/off?
    • The red Guide Light switch on the front of the Devil1 unit controls the red cross hair
  3. Why did my Devil1 not turn on?
    • Most often, this is because one of the old limit switches from the PoC edition was used instead of the new ones provided in the kit.  Use only the new limit switches.
  4. How can I make “Home” a different place?
  5. What is this Assistmate thing?
    • Asssitmate for Devil1 automates your air assist, allowing you to toggle your air assist pump on/off automatically in Lightburn
  6. What is the order of installing  the Devil1 on my D1?
    1. Assemble
    2. Flash firmware to latest
    3. Setup in Lightburn with lbdev file
    4. Apply lbset file

 

Software

Lightburn Files:

lbset – This file is used to set up the machine parameters either after firmware flashing, or, to get to a known working state. It use it, In Lightburn, do

  • Edit – Machine Settings – Load from File.
  • After loading this file, click the Write button and watch for the message that confirms write was successful
  • Close Machine Settings
  • Power off Devil1
  • Power on Devil1

Please refer to the documentation provided for installing limit switches and cables 
 

Troubleshooting

  1. The limit switch on the left side of the gantry isn’t coming in contact with the module carrier
    • Press and hold the button on the limit switch, gently bend the arm of the limit switch out slightly from the free end, and test connection with the module carrier. 
  2. The module is moving opposite of the direction is should
    • The lbset file was not loaded correctly.  See above for the correct file. 
  3. I have extension rails on my D1, but the module wont go the whole distance
    1. With the Devil1 connected and powered on, in Lightburn do Edit – Machine SettingsExtension rail setting for Devil1 Lobotomy Kit
    2. Under Outputs, change Y Max travel (1) to 950.
    3. Click the Write button (2).
    4. Close window
    5. Power off Devil1
    6. Power on Devil1
