- How does Assistmate work?
- In Lightburn, each layer has an Air Assist toggle. When Air Assist it toggled on, Lightburn will trigger Assistmate, which powers up your air assist pump/compressor at the start of the layer, and off again after the layer is finished.

Troubleshooting
- How can I test if Assistmate is working?
- Power does not need to be connected to do this test, only the cable between Devil1 and Assistmate
- With Lightburn, open the Console tab. In Console, send the command “M7” (no quotation marks).
- You should be able to hear Assistmate make a clicking sound.
- Assistmate is now in the On state
- Send command “M9”
- You should be able to hear Assistmate make a clicking sound.
- Assistmate is now in the Off state
- Why doesn’t my air assist turn on even though my layer has Air Assist enabled?
- If you just received your Devil1 or Devil1P, please make sure you have updated the firmware and applied the lbset file
- Verify that Air Assist is toggled on for the layer(s) you want to use it with
- In Lightburn, do Edit – Device Settings
- Under Air Assist, please be sure M7 is selected
If M7 was not selected previously, enable it now- Open the Console tab.
- In Console, send the command “M7” (no quotation marks).
- You should be able to hear Assistmate make a clicking sound.
- If you do not hear a clicking sound, check that you have correctly connected the cable between Assistmate and the control board
- Physically disconnect and reconnect the cable at both ends, do not just look at it and assume the connection is fine
- Send command “M9” in Console
- Repeat “M7” command
- If still no clicking sound is heard, please contact Support
- Assistmate is now in the On state
- Send command “M9”
- You should be able to hear Assistmate make a clicking sound.
- Assistmate is now in the Off stat
- With Asssitmate now confirmed to be working correctly, try running a job again
