The Geeks At Large Steel Laser Engraving Area Surface Protector is a durable, replaceable sacrificial plate designed specifically for the xTool F1 Ultra, F2 Ultra, and F2 Ultra UV.
The plate can be used on either side, giving you two usable protective surfaces in one plate. When one side becomes more scratched, marked, or worn than you prefer, simply remove it, flip it over, reinstall it, and continue working on the opposite side.
Protect the Original Engraving Area
Laser engravers are working machines, and the area beneath your projects eventually shows it.
Cutting completely through material, misplaced jobs, incorrect settings, scratches, residue, and normal use can all leave permanent marks on the original machine surface.
This steel protector is designed to take that wear instead.
Install it over the engraving area using the included mounting screws and use your laser normally. Cutting marks, scratches, discoloration, and accidental laser exposure accumulate on a replaceable sacrificial surface instead of the machine underneath.
Reversible — Two Usable Surfaces
Both sides of the steel plate are usable.
When one side becomes more marked than you’d like:
- Remove the mounting screws
- Flip the plate over
- Reinstall it
- Continue working with the opposite surface
That gives you two sacrificial protective surfaces in one plate.
The plate is intentionally designed to be used, marked, scratched, and eventually replaced.
Magnetic Steel Work Surface
Because the protector is manufactured from powder-coated steel, it also provides a magnetic work surface.
Magnets and magnetic positioning accessories can be used directly on the plate for:
- Material positioning
- Temporary stops
- Repeatable setups
- Custom fixturing
- Workholding assistance
This makes the protector useful not only as a sacrificial surface, but also as a flexible magnetic work area for day-to-day engraving and production setups.

This product is intentionally designed as a sacrificial wear surface. Scratches, discoloration, engraving marks, cutting marks, and other signs of normal use are expected.
