How does xTool D1 Pro Rotary Switch work?
When you want to use do flat engraving, put the switch in the Y position. When you want to do rotary work, move the switch to the R position. The final position, “-” does nothing.
Software
No additional software required, this is purely hardware.
Installation
Power off xTool D1 Pro
Unplug Y axis stepper motor cable from Y axis port xTool D1 Pro controller (white connector where you usually plug the rotary in)
Plug rotary switch cable into the Y axis port xTool D1 Pro controller
Plug Y axis stepper motor into the switch cable connector marked “Y”
Plug rotary cable into remaining switch cable
Using the double sides adhesive, attached the switch housing to the xTool D1 Pro frame in a spot that is out of the way but easy to get at with you fingers.
The bottom edge of the front frame rail is a good spot
Using the two included cable clips, organize the cables so that they are out of the way and will not tangle with the Y stepper motor driveshaft
